Almost 99% of the mass of the human body is made up of six elements: oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, and phosphorus. The theme of this collection is about the journey to track back to the chemical origin of humans. MAIKO NAGAYAMA designed the pendant charm, earrings and rings in sterling silver and 9ct solid gold in the chemical symbol for each element, set with diamonds and mainly pearls (which is the biomineral that is made from the inner lining of oyster, mussel or clam shell with a defense mechanism, a fluid is used to coat the irritant.) This is the collection which aims to make people rethink he starting point of existence in terms of the materials and what we are all composed of.
